Diana Wood
@dianawood
I’m a mobile crisis counselor focused on safe outcomes and compassionate engagement.
What I'm looking for
I’m a compassionate mental health support professional currently pursuing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (expected in 2027). I focus on crisis response roles where empathy, clear communication, and client engagement directly support safer outcomes.
In my Mobile Crisis Counselor experience, I provided crisis intervention services including verbal de-escalation and triage for safe outcomes. I conducted face-to-face mobile and walk-in assessments, evaluated consumer needs, and performed suicide risk assessments with safety planning and crisis follow-up for high-risk consumers. I also maintained accurate mental health documentation by following policy and procedures.
I bring strong client intake and referral navigation skills, connecting individuals in distress with emergency services and community resources. I rely on active listening, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance, with multicultural sensitivity and an empathetic approach that helps clients feel heard during high-stress moments. I also use conversational Spanish to support communication when needed.
Alongside my crisis work, I’ve strengthened my engagement and support style through tutoring, ESL teaching, and mentoring. As a Remote Tutor and ESL Teacher, I tailored instruction to diverse needs, supported learning through active communication and culturally responsive practices, and used tools to maintain engagement—skills I apply to client-centered crisis interactions and follow-up care.
