At Minot State University, I conduct interdisciplinary research on communication challenges involving social, environmental, technological, and public-health problems. I turn research findings and technical concepts into accessible publications, presentations, reports, and public-facing materials.
I co-authored Communicating Amid Mega-Crises, published by Routledge in 2025. The book examines communication during interconnected crises, including climate change, water scarcity, technological disruption, and ecological impacts.
At Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, I designed and conducted quantitative and qualitative research on health, crisis, environmental, technological, and organizational communication. I analyzed research data using SAS and Excel, managed concurrent projects, and translated complex findings for academic and nonacademic audiences.
My work also includes teaching research methods and communication, supervising graduate students, and collaborating with technical experts to make specialized information accessible to media and public audiences. My research addresses environmental and climate communication, health, crisis communication, emerging technologies, and the social consequences of systemic risks.
