What I'm looking for

I’m looking for an entry-level research role where I can continue neurobiology-focused experiments, build technical strength in western blotting and IHC, and present research with strong collaboration and clear communication.

I’m a biochemistry undergraduate (B.S. in Biochemistry, Magna Cum Laude; GPA 3.711) who combines rigorous lab work with communication and community engagement. I’ve stayed consistently on Dean’s List and actively contribute through campus leadership and research fellowships.

My core research focuses on whether the neuropeptides Orexin-A and Orexin-B induce Arc expression in neuroblastoma cells. I conduct western blot experiments to visualize and quantify Arc protein concentration, and I’m also exploring how the sleep/wake cycle affects Arc concentration in rat brains through immunohistochemistry (IHC), with plans to publish results in a formal paper by the end of the year.

Alongside lab research, I build strong relationships through community outreach and science-facing roles. As a Greyhound Ambassador (tour guide), I give four to five tours a month for families and prospective students, prepare for Open House events, and support campus visits by staying up to date on resources, programs, and residence hall information.

I’ve also led student engagement efforts as Chair of Off Campus Trips and Traditions for Hounds Activities and Programming. I planned two to three community events per month, led weekly meetings, and helped enforce an inclusive environment by introducing new students to each other—skills I bring to presenting research and collaborating with others.

LM

Student Researcher/Hauber Fellow

Loyola University Maryland

Jan 2025 - May 2026 (1 year 4 months)

Investigated whether neuropeptides Orexin-A and Orexin-B induce Arc expression in neuroblastoma cells and quantified Arc protein using western blotting. Also conducted immunohistochemistry work related to sleep/wake cycle effects on Arc concentration in rat brains.

Student Researcher/Hauber Fellow

Hauber Research Program

Jun 2025 - Aug 2025 (2 months)

Completed a 10-week Hauber Research Program project titled “Orexin Induction of Arc Expression” as part of a competitive fellowship sponsored by W.R. Grace. Attended weekly workshops and presented research findings to 120 professors and professionals.
