At the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at Chinese University of Hong Kong, I investigated how seasonal variation in daylight hours was associated with glycemic control in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes. I used ANOVA, chi-square tests, and ANCOVA, and entered data from metabolic reports.
At Allard Lab, UCLA Institute for Society and Genetics, I used R to filter more than 15,000 genes from RNA-seq data across cell types and arsenic doses. I also used gene ontology on ShinyGo to identify similarities and differences in affected pathways.
At Lesch Lab, Yale Department of Genetics, I wrote R code to investigate bivalent elements under a PhD student’s supervision and filtered gene data to identify poised genes across five species. I also analyzed gene expression using a genome browser and conducted motif analysis for selected genes.
At ASDRP, I investigated more than 800 berberine analogs through molecular docking to identify ligands with greater binding affinity to G-quadruplexes. I co-published a research paper in the Journal of Emerging Investigators with five other high school students.
