I started my career teaching third and fourth grade, and I still design training the way I’d plan a lesson: figure out what the learner needs to understand, then build the clearest path there. Four years in the classroom taught me to adjust for learners at very different levels, including students with IEPs, and to notice quickly when something isn’t working.
For the last two years I was a Training Coordinator at a global fitness equipment company. On a two-person team, I built more than 20 e-learning courses in Articulate Rise and produced over 200 microlearning videos for sales teams and distributors, plus comparison guides and quick-reference job aids in Canva. I wrote and directed the videos, did the light editing myself in Camtasia, and captioned them every week. I also ran localization for eight countries, worked with product managers and other experts to keep content accurate, and reported on engagement and completion in our LMS.
I use AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude in my design workflow, and I built a shared knowledge base so our team’s courses stayed consistent. I’m looking for a remote role in e-learning or instructional design where I can keep turning complicated material into training people actually use.
