Alex Jibai

I am a PhD computer scientist and senior R&D engineering leader with more than 20 years of experience in software engineering, simulation, computer graphics, sensing, artificial intelligence, GPU computing, and high-performance computing. For over a decade, I have led multidisciplinary engineering teams, supported hiring and onboarding, mentored engineers, managed performance and career development, and built collaborative, accountable, and innovative team cultures.

In my current role at Ansys/Synopsys, I lead a 20-person team developing sensing and rendering technologies for a large-scale autonomous-vehicle simulation platform. I define technical roadmaps, translate stakeholder requirements into clear objectives and delivery plans, coordinate cross-functional execution, and manage technical risks, dependencies, and priorities.

A key achievement was leading the development and delivery of a next-generation spectral-rendering engine that improved simulation performance, realism, accuracy, and camera-sensor capabilities. I also introduced automated image-based regression and integration testing and led the development of an AI-assisted validation workflow using a fine-tuned EfficientNetV2 model.

My technical interests include robotics and autonomous systems, simulation, digital twins, perception, computer vision, 3D graphics, rendering, OpenUSD, NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, machine learning, image processing, CUDA, C++, Python, and scalable software platforms. I am particularly interested in engineering-management and senior technical leadership roles where I can combine people leadership, technical strategy, innovation, and reliable delivery to develop impactful products and high-performing teams.
