Alan Grell
@alangrell
I build private luxury experiences through hospitality operations, brand standards, and member-first service.
What I'm looking for
I founded The Cigar Connoisseur Society, a private, invitation-only society for serious smokers built around numbered membership, annual dues, a considered archive, and human concierge service.
Before that, I ran daily operations and revenue optimization for The Davenport Grand, a 716-room Marriott Autograph Collection property. I led a 25-person leadership team, kept turnover under 1%, grew guest retention 18% through VIP and entertainment partnerships, and maintained full Marriott brand-standard compliance.
Across Marriott-brand hotels, I've worked in banquets, catering sales, and front office leadership. My scenic-design training still guides my work: I build rooms, services, and brands for the person who will stand in them.

Founded January 2024. Revenue is annual dues; there is no advertising and no store.
The house keeps an archive read slowly, briefings its members see before the industry does, and a concierge who answers as a person answers. Its sommelier, Cigar·A.I., is the door.
