We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer to join our team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all engineering functions on board the towboat, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.

- Conduct regular inspections and audits of engineering systems and equipment, identifying and addressing any performance issues.

- Maintain accurate records of engineering operations, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in marine engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Valid U.S. Coast Guard Chief Engineer’s license (or equivalent) with relevant endorsements.
- Extensive knowledge of marine propulsion systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing teams effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience with towboats or similar vessels in a commercial setting.
- Proficiency in computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with environmental compliance regulations in the maritime industry.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in marine engineering principles and practices.
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of diesel engines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
- Experience with automation and control systems in a marine environment.
