Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tissue Laboratory Manager to oversee our state-of-the-art laboratory operations. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled professionals in the management of tissue samples, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while driving innovation in laboratory practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the tissue laboratory, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Oversee tissue sample collection, processing, and storage, optimizing workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and implement laboratory protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures.
- Lead, mentor, and train laboratory staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including research and clinical partners, to support project objectives and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including GLP, CLIA, and CAP standards.
- Manage laboratory budgets and resources, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of tissue handling procedures and laboratory best practices.
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance in laboratory operations.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing teams effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical research environment or with biobanking operations.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software.
- Certification from a relevant professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AABB) is a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in laboratory techniques related to tissue processing, histology, and immunohistochemistry.
- Experience with laboratory management software and electronic record-keeping systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate reports.
