Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior System Safety Engineer to join our innovative team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting safety assessments and analysis of system designs, components, and processes
- Participate in the development and documentation of safety requirements and safety management plans
- Support the creation of hazard analysis, failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and fault tree analysis (FTA)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated throughout the product lifecycle
- Contribute to the reporting and tracking of safety-related issues and corrective actions
- Engage with regulatory bodies and support audits to ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related field
- Familiarity with system safety engineering principles and practices
- Basic understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety standards
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Internship or co-op experience in safety engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178C)
- Experience with safety analysis tools and software
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with safety analysis techniques such as FMEA and FTA
- Experience with engineering tools for modeling and simulation
- Basic proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
