Role Overview
We are seeking a Product Safety Testing Manager to lead our safety assessment initiatives, ensuring that our products meet and exceed industry safety standards. In this role, you will oversee the testing processes, manage a team of testing engineers, and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive safety and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety testing strategies for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Manage a team of safety testing engineers, providing mentorship and guidance to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product development teams to integrate safety considerations early in the design process.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards associated with products, recommending solutions to mitigate risks.
- Oversee the execution of testing protocols, ensuring accurate and thorough testing is performed in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed documentation of testing processes and results, preparing reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to product safety.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product safety testing or quality assurance, with a proven track record of managing testing teams.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations relevant to our industry.
- Experience in risk assessment and hazard analysis methodologies.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
- Experience with international safety standards and testing protocols.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in safety testing methodologies and tools, including but not limited to IEC, ASTM, and ISO standards.
- Familiarity with risk management software and quality management systems.
- Experience with data analysis tools to interpret testing results and drive improvements.
