Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Safety Manager to lead our initiatives in ensuring the safety and compliance of our products across diverse markets. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety standards that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, thereby safeguarding both our customers and our brand integrity.
Responsibilities
- Establish and enforce product safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards associated with products throughout their lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure safety considerations are integrated into product design and development processes.
- Lead investigations into product safety incidents, and formulate corrective actions to prevent recurrence, ensuring timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of evolving regulations and industry trends, providing strategic recommendations to mitigate compliance risks.
- Develop and deliver training programs on product safety standards and best practices for internal teams.
- Prepare and manage documentation related to product safety, including compliance reports and safety data sheets.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product safety, compliance, or risk management within a relevant industry.
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices, including ISO, IEC, and regional compliance requirements.
- Proven track record of conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a related field or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional).
- Experience in leading product safety initiatives in a global environment.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management and quality assurance methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using safety assessment tools and methodologies.
- Experience with product compliance software and documentation management systems.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software for data interpretation.
