Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Manager to lead our efforts in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive process safety management systems. This leadership role will focus on ensuring the integrity and safety of our operations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement process safety management strategies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
- Lead hazard analysis and risk assessment initiatives, including HAZOP, LOPA, and what-if analyses
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and enhance safety performance
- Drive training programs and workshops to elevate process safety awareness and competency among staff
- Manage incident investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up on corrective actions
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve process safety management systems
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in process safety management within a manufacturing or chemical environment
- Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations, standards, and practices
- Proven experience in conducting safety audits and risk assessments
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)
- Experience with process safety software and tools
- Strong leadership and project management skills
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of process safety principles and methodologies
- Proficiency in safety management software and data analysis tools
- Experience with process design and safety systems, including P&ID and safety instrumented systems
