Role Overview
We are looking for a visionary Director of Safety Engineering to lead our efforts in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance within our engineering processes. This role is critical in fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization, where you'll leverage data-driven insights to inform safety protocols and enhance our engineering practices. Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain comprehensive safety engineering standards and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of risk assessment protocols, utilizing advanced analytical techniques to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Oversee safety audits and inspections, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into the product development lifecycle, ensuring safety is a core component of our engineering processes.
- Foster a culture of safety by providing training, mentorship, and resources to engineering teams, promoting proactive safety behavior.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in safety engineering or related field, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic oversight.
- Extensive knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to the engineering industry.
- Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in risk assessment and safety compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in engineering, safety management, or a related field.
- Experience in leading safety initiatives within a large-scale engineering organization.
- Familiarity with safety management systems (SMS) and continuous improvement methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in safety engineering software and tools used for risk analysis and reporting.
- Experience with data analysis platforms and methodologies to inform safety decisions.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, such as ISO 9001, OSHA, and other relevant industry standards.
