Role Overview
We are seeking a Logging Crew Lead to oversee our logging operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to best practices within our forestry management programs. In this role, you will lead a team of logging professionals and coordinate all aspects of logging activities, from planning to execution, while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a crew of logging operators, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed during all operations
- Coordinate logging activities, including planning, scheduling, and supervising daily operations
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety and operational standards
- Monitor crew performance and provide mentorship and training to team members to enhance skills and productivity
- Collaborate with forestry management to ensure logging practices align with sustainability goals and regulations
- Maintain accurate records of logging operations, including production metrics and safety incidents
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in logging operations or forestry management
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams in a challenging outdoor environment
- Strong knowledge of logging equipment and safety practices
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience with sustainable forestry practices and environmental compliance
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards
- Certification in First Aid and CPR
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using logging equipment and machinery
- Understanding of GPS and mapping technologies for logging operations
- Ability to analyze data related to logging productivity and safety
