Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Lead Skidder Operator to oversee the operation and maintenance of skidder equipment in our forestry operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure efficient and safe timber harvesting while leading a team of operators, providing technical expertise, and maintaining high operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily operations of skidder activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Operate and maintain various skidder equipment, performing regular inspections and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Train and mentor junior operators, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with forestry management to plan and execute timber harvesting operations, optimizing productivity and minimizing environmental impact.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience operating skidder equipment in forestry or related industries.
- Strong understanding of timber harvesting techniques and forestry operations.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Preferred:
- Certification in forestry or heavy equipment operation.
- Experience with GPS and mapping technology for forestry applications.
