Introducing Zinc Network

Zinc Network is an ISO certified international development company headquartered in London and with offices in Washington, D.C., Tbilisi, Riga, Warsaw, and Nairobi. We’re on a mission to achieve meaningful, measurable change through the application of behavioural science and strategic communications, technology, and human-centred design (HCD).

We have 100+ team members from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds, including democratic governance specialists, behavioural scientists, researchers, content producers, digital experts, and service designers. We work with a broad range of governmental, NGO, and private sector clients, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the U.S. Department of State (DOS); the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD); the UK Home Office (HO); the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); UN agencies and missions; Microsoft; and the Internet Watch Foundation.

We conceptualise and create award-winning programs, interventions, and campaigns that change the way that people think, feel, and act across a wide range of pervasive social issues, including disinformation and hate speech, violent extremism, poor governance, threats to children and young people’s online safety, gender-based violence, and more.

Outline of the job

As Digital Content Manager, you will help support an exciting communication and advocacy programme spanning five countries over three years, aiming to build support for Ukraine.

The Digital Content Manager has responsibility for maximising impact of digital campaigns through intelligent, innovative, and data-led distribution strategies – as well as responsibility for developing the digital capacity of Zinc’s partners through training and consultancy. You’ll need extensive experience working on diverse social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, and Telegram – and understand the content, formats and audiences that align best with each of these channels.

You’ll be on top of the latest trends and developments, enabling you to respond to briefs with ideas and plans which think outside of the box, on complex and challenging campaigns.

The role forms part of Zinc Network’s Digital team and will report into a Senior Digital Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing digital strategy: take strategy documents and turn them into succinct digital plans, across content, distribution and paid. This will include the need to provide expert recommendations across placements, targeting, budgets, posting schedules and frequency, and objective setting/data collation.
  • Campaign dissemination: based on approved digital strategy, ensuring campaigns are successfully distributed across channels, using both paid and organic methods.
  • Social media and community management: tracking performance of campaign content and relevant conversation (both public and private); developing approaches for direct engagement with target audiences, crisis management responses and plans, and moderation processes.
  • Influencer marketing and channel networking: where required, building relationships with key channel influencers and pages – including bringing a ‘contacts book’ of relevant accounts to the role.
  • Capacity building: improving the digital knowledge and expertise of Zinc’s partner organisations and clients, through workshops, mentoring and consultancy. This could include (but may not be limited to): social best practice and paid promotion, audience development, digital analytics, community management and content development.
  • Analysing performance: working with the wider Zinc Digital Marketing team to feed into project reporting, identifying, and tracking insights key to campaign objectives – as well recommendations for optimisation and future improvements.

Requirements

Social experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience of developing, running and analysing digital campaigns across multiple platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, WhatsApp and YouTube.
  • Experience running paid promotions on Telegram, Google and Meta.
  • Experience creating and delivering digital training workshops and/or providing digital mentoring or consultancy.

Other experience required:

  • Comfortable developing strategies and other documents.
  • Motivated self-starter, flexible and adaptable to change.
