The Associate Leader, Compensation is responsible for managing job descriptions, salary structures, and supporting broader compensation projects. This includes conducting job evaluations, managing the annual salary review process, and collaborating with departments to address compensation-related issues. The Associate Manager will use strong analytical and quantitative skills and help ensure compensation practices are fair, competitive, and aligned with organizational goals.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, review, and update job descriptions to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct job evaluations to maintain a competitive and equitable compensation structures
- Carryout the annual salary review process, including performance-based increases, union increases, promotions, and market adjustments
- Maintain pay equity compliance
- Collaborate with HR, department managers, and senior leadership to address compensation-related issues
- Implement salary administration guidelines and provide guidance on pay decisions
- Carry out reporting to maintain compliance with local, provincial and federal requirements
- Assist in the design and implementation of compensation programs
- Prepare and present compensation analysis and reports to management
- Audit data to ensure our compensation practices are being followed
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes affecting compensation
- Support analysis for long term compensation planning as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
You bring:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Certification in Compensation (CCP) or related certification is an asset
- 3-5 years of experience in compensation analysis or a related HR role
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively
- Expert knowledge of Excel and intermediate level skills on other Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and job evaluation principles
- Proficiency using an HRIS system and reporting tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Well-developed problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Ability to identify needs; initiate, and coordinate and implement solutions
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
