Staff Accountant (For Pooling)

And we’re looking for a Staff Accountant to start immediately!
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. General Ledger Support: Assist with updating and reconciling general ledger accounts (cash, receivables, payables) and maintaining subsidiary ledgers.
2. Journal Entries: Prepare routine journal entries (accruals, prepayments) as instructed for monthly close.
3. Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts to the GL.
4. Financial Reporting: Help compile financial statements and management reports by gathering data and preparing preliminary schedules.
5. Audit Assistance: Provide documentation and explanations for auditors; help prepare audit schedules when needed.
Miscellaneous Accounting: Process petty cash, expense reimbursements, and assist payroll or billing clerks if needed.
6. Month-End Close: Lead monthly closing activities: process accruals, amortizations, and run trial balances. Prepare/enter standard journal entries (depreciation, payroll accrual).
7. Financial Statements: Draft parts of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet) and variance analyses; explain fluctuations to management.
8. Audit Coordination: Prepare detailed schedules for external or internal audits (e.g. fixed assets, inventory); liaise with auditors on requested information.
9. GL Maintenance: Own a segment of the general ledger (e.g. fixed assets, investment accounts) including reconciliations and fixed asset roll-forward.
10. Intercompany/Project Accounting: If applicable, manage intercompany transactions or project cost accounting and reporting.
11. Financial Analysis: Perform ad-hoc analyses (e.g. profitability by product line, cost variances) to support business decisions.
12. Financial Leadership: Oversee entire month-end and year-end close processes and ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance across accounts.
13. Accounting System Owner: Lead configuration and improvement of accounting systems/processes to increase efficiency.
14. Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants, assign tasks, and review their work. Ensure that accounting staff meet deadlines and quality standards.
15. Financial Strategy: Contribute to financial planning (budgets, forecasts) by providing reliable data and analysis; optimize working capital and cost controls.
16. Special Projects: Manage complex initiatives (implementation of new accounting standards, ERP upgrades, M&A accounting integration).
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year proven experience as a Staff Accountant with international clients
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) — preferred.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) considered an advantage.
- ERP or Financial System Certification (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Solid understanding of financial/accounting terminologies and practices
- With a good background in Quickbooks, Asana, and Excel
- Tech savvy & familiar with current technologies, like desktop sharing, cloud services, and VoIP
- Experience with word-processing software and spreadsheets (e.g., MS Office)
- Knowledge of online calendars and scheduling (e.g., Google Calendar)
- Proactive attitude
- Able to work on a graveyard shift
