Wagepoint is a financial technology company dedicated to simplifying payroll processes for small businesses across North America, with a primary focus on Canada. Founded in 2012, the company has established itself as a user-friendly online payroll software provider, designed to automate and streamline complex payroll tasks. Wagepoint's core mission is to alleviate the administrative burden of payroll, allowing small business owners to dedicate more time and resources to their core operations and growth. The platform offers a comprehensive suite of features, including direct deposit capabilities, automated calculation and remittance of payroll taxes (such as federal and provincial/territorial income tax, Employment Insurance, and Canada Pension Plan contributions), and the generation of year-end tax forms like T4s and T4As. This automation helps ensure accuracy and compliance with evolving payroll regulations, reducing the risk of costly errors and penalties for small businesses.

Beyond basic payroll processing, Wagepoint emphasizes a customer-centric approach, priding itself on providing friendly and accessible support. The company aims to be more than just a software provider, positioning itself as a partner to small businesses and the accountants and bookkeepers who serve them. This is reflected in their commitment to not moving 'upmarket' to serve larger enterprises, ensuring their product development and customer service remain tailored to the specific needs of the small business sector. Wagepoint also offers features like employee self-onboarding, online access to pay stubs and tax documents for employees, and tools for managing Records of Employment (ROEs). The software is designed to integrate with other business tools, such as accounting software like QuickBooks and Xero, to further enhance efficiency. The company has steadily grown, serving tens of thousands of small businesses and processing payroll for hundreds of thousands of employees. Wagepoint also offers add-on products like 'People by Wagepoint' and 'Time by Wagepoint' to provide more comprehensive HR and time-tracking solutions.
