Position Overview
At Autodesk, quality is at the heart of everything we build—and the SDET team is central to that mission. We're not just writing tests; we're enabling our engineers, product managers, and designers to ship features faster, with confidence and craftsmanship.

As our Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you’ll be a champion for the user experience and a strategic quality partner in the software development lifecycle. You’ll help elevate how we test, how fast we move, and how well we deliver.

Responsibilities

As a Senior SDET, you’ll wear two hats—tester and builder. You’ll:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ship high-quality features on time

  • Own manual and automated test plans for key areas of the application

  • Build and scale automation frameworks using tools like Cypress, Playwright, Jest, Selenium, or Appium

  • Identify, track, and communicate bugs while leading bug bashes and quality checkpoints

  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub/GitLab, CircleCI, or Jenkins

  • Guide the team on functional and automation best practices

  • Design reusable, modular test components to boost reliability and speed

  • Peer-review automation code, suggest improvements, and mentor junior team members

  • Partner with product and engineering to define what “done” and “excellent” look like

  • Quantify and track quality through dashboards and metrics

Minimum Qualifications

We value skills, curiosity, and collaboration over checking every box. That said, success in this role looks like:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, or a similar language

  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining automation test suites

  • Familiarity with version control and code review tools like GitHub or GitLab

  • Experience working in agile environments with fast iteration cycles

  • Comfort running tests at scale, in parallel, and in modern CI/CD environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Visual testing tools like Applitools or Percy

  • Mobile automation testing (Appium)

  • API automation and load/performance testing
