Analytics Engineer – Embedded BI (Databricks Focus)

Vineskills is a fast-growing team of 60+ legal-tech professionals helping law firms grow with Filevine, a leading case management platform. We are expanding our Domo services and building a fully embedded, managed reporting platform called Insights, a scalable analytics product that law firms can turn on and use instantly.

We are looking for someone who builds the systems, data models, and infrastructure that power dashboards. If you enjoy working at the intersection of analytics, engineering, and product development, this role may be for you.

About the role:
As an Analytics Engineer on the Insights team, you will help architect and build the backend and embedded analytics infrastructure behind our reporting platform. This role is primarily internal and product-focused. You will work closely with a small team to design scalable dashboard templates, data models, and automation that can support hundreds of law firms.

Who is an ideal fit?

• You are based in Latin America with strong overlap to North and South American time zones.
• You have hands-on experience with Databricks and understand its different functionalities.
• You are strong in SQL (advanced queries, transformations, optimization).
• You are comfortable writing/prompting and reading Python for data workflows or backend logic.
• You work naturally in tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, VS Code, Git, and version-controlled environments.
• You think like a builder and enjoy creating scalable systems, not one-off reports. You understand BI tools like Domo, Metabase, PowerBI, or similar, but you are not limited to them.
• You are curious about emerging tools, including AI-powered analytics workflows.
• You are self-managed, clear in written communication, and thrive in a 100% remote team.
• You have experience working in the Legal industry.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing data models and transformations in Databricks.
• Supporting and extending embedded dashboards in Domo and Metabase.
• Building reusable, scalable dashboard templates deployable across hundreds of clients.
• Developing backend logic and automation that powers our Insights platform.
• Improving performance, structure, and maintainability of analytics workflows.
• Collaborating asynchronously via documentation and Loom videos.
• Contributing ideas for future capabilities, including AI-assisted analytics features.
• Joining weekly team meetings, self-managing your own projects and tasks in Jira and reporting back your progress to the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3–5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or data engineering.
• Experience with Domo, Metabase, or other embedded BI tools.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with Python.
• Experience working in Databricks.
• Experience with Git and version-controlled workflows.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and transformation concepts.
• Experience building embedded dashboards or analytics solutions.
