We work with classroom teachers, school leaders and district executives to ensure engaging, affirming and meaningful grade-level instruction, so that we eliminate the predictability of student outcomes by race and socioeconomic status. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Digital Product Development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building successful edtech products, leading agile project management initiatives, and driving product development through a customer-focused lens. A standout candidate will not have just led such initiatives but will have also worked in a number of capacities and performed the actual work duties of some of those they will now manage. As such, this role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the EdTech industry, a proven track record of product innovation in education, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the digital product development team in conceptualizing, designing, and delivering innovative edtech products.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements and develop product roadmaps.
• Implement agile project management methodologies to ensure timely and efficient product delivery.
• Oversee the UI/UX design process to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Work closely with engineering teams to translate product specifications into technical requirements.
• Establishes a clear architectural framework that provides the needed runway for product and feature enhancements and delivery.
• Facilitates the creation and prioritization of a strong product backlog, and ensures the delivery of working software to end users through rigorous development and QA.
• Lead and mentor a team of product managers, designers, and engineers to achieve project goals and objectives.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify market trends and opportunities.
• Champions a user-centric approach, collecting and leveraging customer insights and feedback to inform product decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and user experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Education, Product Development, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience in directly leading the development and launch of successful edtech products.
• Strong leadership and project management skills with experience establishing and then leading agile methodologies and SCRUM processes.
• Deep understanding of UI/UX design principles, and best practices as related to device interoperability and accessibility requirements commensurate for education.

UnboundEd offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience and education and a generous benefits package that includes take-as-you-need vacation time, group medical, dental and vision plans, disability and life insurance plans, and an employer-sponsored 401K retirement plan with a 5% employer contribution and no vesting period or salary cap. This is an exempt full-time position with additional bonus earning potential. A yearly compensation offer is based on relevant years of experience in relation to the position and will be in the range of $180,000-$195,000
