[REMOTE] Senior Voice Network Engineer (translations engineering exp. req.) Description

Our client, a growing engineering and consulting team, is searching for a Remote Senior Voice Network Engineer. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and support voice and unified communications systems. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams across networking, systems administration, and IT, while also working directly with vendors and customers. Much of the work supports rural carriers, so hands-on experience with switch translations is essential. The ideal candidate has solid switch translation experience within the past 10 years and understands how it fits into today’s evolving voice technologies. If your background is primarily VoIP with only limited exposure to translations, this likely won’t be the right fit. However, if you bring strong translation experience and enjoy working in environments that blend legacy infrastructure with modern solutions, this could be a great opportunity. If your current role demands frequent after-hours work, this fully remote position offers a real change: minimal after-hours support, flexibility, strong work-life balance, and the stability of an engineering team with long tenure.

[REMOTE] Senior Voice Network Engineer (translations engineering exp. req.) Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement voice systems (IP telephony, UC, and contact center solutions)
    • Configure and maintain telephony infrastructure
    • Maintain and optimize voice network infrastructure
    • Monitor system performance and evaluate system capacity
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues impacting call quality, connectivity, etc.
    • Implement and support security best practices to safeguard systems and data
    • Assist with planning for scalability and enhancements
    • Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, processes, and system changes

• Manage relationships with vendors

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support ongoing operational needs

[REMOTE] Senior Voice Network Engineer (translations engineering exp. req.) Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of engineering experience required
    • Switch translation experience (within the last 10 years) required
    • Experience with Class 5 or softswitch voice platforms required
    • Experience with modern VoIP platforms and hosted PBX systems required
