About the role

To support our growth, we are looking for Cyber Event Response and Triage (CERT) Analysts to join our growing cyber security function. This role will be supporting our 24/7 operational capabilities, providing shift coverage to support our growing out of hours capability. This is a remote-based role and the hours of work will be 10pm-6.30am, Monday to Friday.

As a member of the Starling CERT team, you will be working with a team of collaborative SecOps professionals to protect Starling customers, assets, and systems using the latest technologies.

  • Incident Triage, Response, and Investigations based on alerts received from multiple sources which include:
    • Cloud Infrastructure/Security.
    • Endpoint Detection and Response.
    • Perimeter detection tooling.
    • Mobile application logs
  • Investigating and responding to security alerts raised by Users.
  • Documentation of incidents and investigations.
  • Conducting phishing and impersonation analysis.
  • Supporting improvements to triage processes and security analytics

Requirements

About your skills

We’re open-minded when it comes to hiring and we care more about aptitude and attitude than specific experience or qualifications. Below is an overview of the skills that will be used:

  • Practical experience of Cloud Platforms and associated Security Solutions.
  • Experience working with SIEM platforms.
  • Experience working in SOC functions.
  • Experience in endpoint based investigations.
    • Investigations of suspect files
    • Analysis of endpoints through EDR solutions
  • Interest in Automation.
  • Any experience of programming such as Python, Go and/or Java.
  • Cyber/Information Security related degree and/or relevant cyber security qualification(s) would be great, but are not essential.

Interview Process

Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious. In general you can expect the below video interviews, following a chat with one of our Talent Team:

  • First Interview: 30 minutes
  • Technical Interview: 90 minutes
  • Final Interview: 45 minutes
