Job Title: L3 Systems Engineer

Our Professional Services team provides customers with discounted hardware and skilled IT services in projects that are the right fit for our customers.

Overview: You'll manage tickets, assist escalations, handle deployments, and support Windows-based networks and cloud solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills, technical expertise, and excellent communication are required. CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco certifications are a plus, and a willingness to keep learning is a must. We value self-motivated professionals with integrity and top-notch customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Intelinet Ticketing & Project Systems:
    • Manage and triage support tickets

    • Assist with escalations from Tier 1 & 2 engineers

  • Manage project deployments and configurations

  • Spearhead new client onboardings

  • Provide support for customer networks

  • Maintain complete technical documentation

  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness

  • Design, deploy, and configure networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN)

  • Install and configure networking hardware, routers, switches, wireless, and firewalls

  • Design firewall configurations (NAT, PNAT, ACL, Content & Application Policies)

  • Design wireless configurations using SSID & authentication methods (LDAP, RADIUS)

  • Configure VLANs and network segregation

  • Monitor network performance and integrity; conduct regular network performance tests

  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability

  • Create and implement network security measures

  • Server and cloud management:

    • Design, build, maintain, and manage Server 2016+

    • Deploy physical and virtual server infrastructure

    • Manage Hyper-V, VMware, Failover Clusters, and HA environments

    • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Print, File services

    • Design and administer Disaster Recovery Solutions and Infrastructure

    • Administer Azure, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams

  • Security management:

    • Implement security authentication methods (MFA, TOTP, SSO, Conditional Access, Zero Trust)

    • Detect and clean viruses and malware

    • Oversee and test security measures, including access authentication and disaster recovery

  • Workstation management:

    • Design, build, maintain, and manage Windows 10/11 devices

    • Manage local, Active Directory, and Entra ID joined devices

    • Handle profiles, migrations, and application troubleshooting

    • Install and configure modern software

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Certifications

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Experience working in customer environments

  • Excellent customer relationship skills

  • Thrives in a team environment

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Multitasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Sharp troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Organizational and mentoring skills

  • Mentor team members on technical issues

  • Use of remote access tools such as LogMeIn and Screen Connect is a plus
  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Willingness to learn ConnectWise PSA

  • Maintain complete technical documentation

Networking:

  • Solid background in network administration and architecture

  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
  • Technical certifications preferred (A+, MCTS, VTSP, CCENT, or CCNA)

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN)

  • Install and configure networking hardware

  • Configure routers, switches, wireless, and firewalls

  • Design firewall configurations including NAT, PNAT, ACL, Content & Application Policies
  • Design wireless configurations using SSID & authentication methods like LDAP, RADIUS
  • Configure VLANs and network segregation

  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools

  • Monitor network performance and integrity

  • Conduct regular network performance tests

  • Create and implement network security measures

Servers, Cloud, & Security:

  • Server 2016+ design, build, maintenance, and management

  • Ability to create and deploy physical and virtual server infrastructure

  • Manage Lights Out Management and Lifecycle Management using iDrac or other methods
  • Support Hyper-V, VMware, Failover Clusters, and HA environments

  • Administrate Active Directory and other primary server roles (DNS, DHCP, Print, File)

  • Design and administer Disaster Recovery Solutions and Infrastructure

  • Administrate Azure and Entra ID

  • Administrate Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams

  • Implement security authentication methods (MFA, TOTP, SSO, Conditional Access, Zero Trust)
  • Strong understanding of virus and malware detection and cleaning techniques
  • Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery)

Workstations:

  • Windows 10/11 design, build, maintenance, and management

  • Local, Active Directory, & Entra ID joined devices

  • Manage profiles, migrations, and application troubleshooting

  • Install and configure modern software

Schedule: Night Shift (CST)
