Technical Director (Livestreaming)

Responsibilities:

• Technical Planning:
  • Collaborate with the production team to develop technical plans for livestream events, ensuring alignment with creative vision and technical feasibility, with a specific focus on TikTok and adaptability to other livestreaming platforms.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers and vendors to procure necessary gear and ensure timely delivery for each livestream production.
  • Conduct pre-event checks and rehearsals to verify the functionality of all technical equipment and troubleshoot any issues.

• Live Production Control:
  • Manage the live production control room during livestream events, overseeing camera switching, audio mixing, and other technical aspects in real-time, with a focus on optimizing the content for TikTok's format and audience.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between different segments of the livestream, coordinating with camera operators and other crew members to maintain a cohesive flow.
  • Implement interactive features and engage with viewers to enhance the livestream experience and foster audience engagement on TikTok and other platforms.

• Troubleshooting and Quality Assurance:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting technical issues that arise during livestreams, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to minimize downtime, with a specific focus on addressing challenges unique to TikTok's platform.
  • Conduct post-event debriefs to evaluate the technical performance of each livestream and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the production team to implement feedback and make adjustments to future livestreams based on lessons learned, ensuring adaptability to different livestreaming platforms.

• Pitches and Presentations:
  • Participate in pitch presentations and brainstorming sessions, providing support and insights on technical aspects of livestream production, with a focus on leveraging TikTok's features and audience engagement strategies.
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials and effectively communicate technical ideas to internal teams and clients, demonstrating the value proposition of livestreaming services across various platforms.

• Industry Knowledge
  • Stay updated on market developments and opportunities in the livestreaming industry, including emerging technologies and trends, with a focus on how they impact content creation and consumption on TikTok and other platforms.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge in livestream production techniques and equipment.
  • Share insights and best practices with team members to foster continuous improvement and innovation in livestreaming operations across different platforms.

• Audience engagement metrics (e.g., viewer retention, comments, shares) specific to TikTok and other platforms.
• Technical uptime and reliability of livestreams on TikTok and other platforms.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Technical Director or similar role in livestream production.
• In-depth knowledge of livestreaming equipment, software, and techniques.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
