What We Do…

We’ve helped everyone from boutique hotels to big chains, enabling travellers to book igloos, cabins, castles, holiday parks, campsites, pubs, resorts, Airbnbs, and everything in between.

And today, we’re the world’s leading open hotel commerce platform, supporting 47,000 hotels in 150 countries - with over 125 million reservations processed by SiteMinder’s technology every year.

About your role...

SiteMinder Pay is our embedded payment product that enables our customers to seamlessly process and manage payments without needing to leave the platform. It is a key driver in our transactional revenue growth and continues to scale towards aggressive growth targets.

The Manager, Payments Risk will join the Strategic Operations team and lead our payment risk and fraud management initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting our platform and users from payment fraud while ensuring a smooth experience for legitimate transactions.

Working closely with our Security team, you'll become an expert in our hotel customers and their end users, gaining insights into behaviors that indicate potential fraudulent and abusive activity impacting our platform. You will balance a positive payment experience for our customers with the overall goal of minimising fraudulent activities. The ideal candidate will combine analytical skills with a deep understanding of payment systems and fraud prevention.

What you’ll do…

  • Own and drive the payment risk management strategy across our platform

  • Design, implement, and continuously optimize fraud rules and detection systems to minimize payment fraud globally

  • Monitor and analyze dispute rates and transaction patterns to proactively identify high-risk users and potential fraud threats

  • Protect legitimate users by implementing measures to prevent and respond to fraud attacks

  • Collaborate with the security team to develop and implement product guardrails that prevent fraud and minimize financial losses

  • Create and maintain dashboards to track key risk metrics and fraud indicators

  • Develop and document risk management processes and procedures

  • Stay current with emerging fraud trends and adapt strategies accordingly

  • Partner with key stakeholder teams including Product, Engineering, and Customer Support to drive risk management solutions

What you have…

  • Experience in risk and fraud management, strategy, operations or analytics with demonstrated skills in quantitative fields

  • Strong understanding of payment systems, fraud patterns, and risk management principles

  • Experience with fraud detection tools and rule-based systems

  • Strong data analysis skills and experience with SQL

  • Understanding of payment processing systems and common fraud vectors

  • Experience with chargeback management and dispute resolution

  • Strong analytical and communication skills - comfortable both interrogating datasets for insights, as well as communicating these effectively to effect change

  • Pragmatic, can-do approach to solving problems - comfortable working with unfamiliar concepts, identifying levers that can move the outcome, and working cross-functionally to develop solutions

  • Proven ability to collaborate with a diverse, cross-functional stakeholder group and influence outcomes at all levels

  • Excels in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; exceptionally comfortable with ambiguity and decision-making in the absence of perfect information

  • Curious, combined with ambition and enthusiasm to seek and test opportunities to build value

We open up the world of online commerce to every hotel.

We’re people who love technology, but know hoteliers don’t always have the same passion. What overwhelms them is what drives us to make it that much simpler and more compelling to use.

While we started out in a Sydney rental, our people’s presence in six continents today mean that, at SiteMinder, the sun never quite sets. In addition to JavaScript and GraphQL, we speak in the most-spoken languages of the world – our staff mirroring the diversity of the tens of thousands of hoteliers we support and represent every day.

We’re proud of our unrelenting focus on quality and innovation. Since 2006, accommodation properties from boutique hotels and chains to igloos, cabins, castles, holiday parks, resorts, and everything in between have called us their online commerce software provider. As their needs evolve, our role in helping them to explore their full potential has never been more apparent.
