The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
Position Overview:
RTX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Architect to lead our database architecture and engineering efforts. The ideal candidate will also act as the manager of the database team, overseeing the design, implementation, and management of our database systems to support our growing technological needs.
What You Will Do
Lead a team of database professionals in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and secure database solutions.
Act as the primary architect for all Corporate database-related projects, ensuring high performance, availability, and security of databases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver innovative solutions that align with business objectives.
Define and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry regulations.
Monitor database performance, implement improvements, and conduct regular system audits to prevent data loss.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Stay abreast of emerging database technologies and trends to drive innovation within the organization.
Build out the overall Database team
Support all OneRTX Initiatives
Qualifications You Must Have
Minimum 10 years experience in database design, development, and administration, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
Minimum 10 years experience in Microsoft and/or Oracle Database Technologies.
Minimum 2 years cloud experience
US Citizen or US Person Required
Qualifications We Prefer
Knowledge of Application development standards, architectures, and best practices
Strong understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about database infrastructure.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is highly desirable
Knowledge of storage tiers and database placement.
Proven expertise in SQL and NoSQL database technologies, data modeling, and ETL processes.
Experience with ITAR and Export regulations as they apply to IT asset access control UNIX and Windows access for log review and DBA file maintenance.
Demonstrated leadership of successful process improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated previous focus on process development and implementation that span organizational boundaries
Knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
