Are you a skilled communicator with a technical and/or scientific background and a passion for sustainability and the bioeconomy? RSB - Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials is seeking a Technical Communication Junior Manager to join our dynamic team. In this position, your duties will involve creating and delivering materials that effectively convey technical documentation and normative standards, reports, project outcomes, and other content to diverse audiences. Your goal will be to promote RSB's efforts in sustainable biomaterials through clear and concise communication.

RSB is a global, multi-stakeholder organisation dedicated to driving the sustainable development of the bioeconomy. Our work spans diverse sectors including aviation, chemicals, materials, and shipping, among others. As the Technical Communication Junior Manager, you will play a key role in raising awareness and engagement in RSB's mission.

Please note that this is a home-office position based in the UK. In order to apply, you must already possess the right to live and work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Create and disseminate technical documentation, including reports, guidelines, and manuals.
  • Develop and deliver clear, concise, and engaging content for technical communication materials, such as white papers, blog posts, and press releases.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and verify technical information.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into accessible and engaging content for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of technical information across all communication channels.
  • Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Assist with managing and updating RSB's website and other digital platforms.
  • Stay current on best practices in technical communication and bring innovative ideas to enhance RSB's communication efforts.

Requirements

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in technical or scientific writing (please attach a sample of your writing in your application).
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as communication, sustainability, or environmental science.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using content management systems and other relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress).
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise content for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to gather and synthesize technical information from various sources.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and practices in the bioeconomy is a plus.
  • Experience in managing websites and knowledge of SEO best practices is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and events.

  • Location: Home office-based, for candidates already currently located in the UK and in possession of valid work permit (no relocation or visa sponsorship available)
  • Travel: Required for meetings several times per year
  • Position type: Full-time

  • Duration: Initial 2-year contract with possibility for extension or a permanent contract
