About the role:

Reporting to Chief People Officer, you will provide advice, guidance and management on all matters relating to Health, Safety & Wellbeing to ensure a safe and healthy workplace and enable compliance with local regulations and standards. This position is remote, however, will require regular travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of a work Health and Safety Management System that identifies risks and implement controls and apply responsibilities to WHS actions. Replacing traditional paper-based processes into digital and online systems.
  • Produces a suite of data and analytics to report on safety performance and improve monthly based on insights, recommendations, and actions.
  • Ownership for WHS policy, procedures, work health and safety management plans, work instructions and tools (forms, checklist, and registers).
  • Drive projects and programs of work to actively promote a culture of Safety and Health awareness, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Construct and manage annual improvement plans for WHS and implement in conjunction with departmental management teams.
  • Bring to the attention of management new legislation, codes of practice, and any other matters affecting safety, health, and welfare.
  • Provide technical guidance on establishing root cause analysis and provide training, education, and management to advise the root cause.
  • Develop and conduct training programs on Health & Safety, and Wellbeing.
  • Liaison and maintenance of relationships with external stakeholders and local and national authorities.
  • Implement safety standards management program i.e. hazards communication program, and personal protective equipment.
  • Carry out internal auditing & inspection of the WHS system to ensure continuous improvement of the system.
  • Establish manual handling risks and develop programs to identify, quantify and coach employees on risks.
  • Help shape a safety culture that influences the collection of beliefs, perceptions and values that employees share in relation to safety.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Safety or WHS.
  • Solid and well-established experience in safety.
  • Experienced in dealing with external stakeholders such as regulatory and local authorities.
  • Project management knowledge and experience is highly experience.
  • Risk management, mitigation, and communication experience & skills.
  • Exceptional ability to translate scientific, technological concepts to relevant business insights and growth opportunities.
  • Proven track record in delivering results in complex environments is essential.
