The Red Hat Services team is looking for an Application/Middleware Consultant to join us in Brazil. In this role, you will help us ensure that our engagements are not just a technology implementation, but an organisational transformation. As a consultant, you will work with our lead architect in our engagements, cocreating innovative software solutions using Red Hat Build of Keycloak or Red Hat Single Sign-On for identity and access management. You’ll be coached by the team to facilitate the design and technical delivery of our solutions. As you do so, you’ll create enthusiasm for building great software using principles of open source and agile culture. You'll support everything from the scoping to delivering the engagements.

What will you do:

  • Install, configure, upgrade and maintain Red Hat Build of Keycloak or Red Hat Single Sign-On instances

  • Applies software engineering principles to the operations domain.

  • Ensures service reliability meets users’ needs, including internally critical and externally visible services

  • Uses software & systems engineering to design, build, and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems

  • Develop API’s using Red Hat technology products and service

  • Design, develop, and manage Kafka-based data pipelines

  • Provide issue analysis on Kafka applications

  • Participates in an on-call rotation within a geographically distributed team to provide 24x7x365 production support, with responsibility to respond to urgent customer issues

  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems

  • Help us cover domains including microservices, API management, and web-scale architectures, DevOps engineering and application delivery, container-based continuous delivery (CD), i.e., using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform,

  • Team up with Red Hat and the open source community to engineer innovation-based software solutions, designed to further accelerate our customers’ success at their transformation journey

  • Work as a trusted adviser to our customers and use your critical thinking skills to tackle tough problems in an innovative way

  • Train and coach team members both on technical and non-technical skills

  • Remain an active coder as this is required during our engagements and maintain deep direct technical knowledge of container management systems (CMSs), application infrastructure, architectures, and development solutions

  • Support presales and post-sales field teams during workshops, proofs of concepts, pilots, and production deployments

What will you bring:

  • 4+ years of experience and advanced knowledge of middleware technologies, including enterprise web or middleware development project experience with application integration

  • Knowledge and some experience in Red Hat Single Sign-On, Keycloak or Red Hat Build of Keycloak

  • Knowledge and some experience in OpenShift by Red Hat;

  • Experience with another Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution will also be considered

  • Hands on experience using Cloud as a development environment

  • JEE and Middleware technology

  • Good technical skills and experience designing and implementing JEE solutions.

  • Thorough experience with at least one of the major middleware solutions, preferably Red Hat JBoss Middleware; experience in Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, WebMethods, Tibco, etc. will also be considered.

  • Hands on experience in application development with Agile approach

  • Hands on experience on building pipelines and CI/CD.

  • Knowledge on Devops and Microservices

  • Enterprise Java development skills are an advantage.

  • Knowledge of Hibernate and Tomcat is an advantage.

  • Hands-on experience on AMQ, API management like 3scale.

  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies on your own and apply new concepts to problems

Good to have Skills:

  • Experience with or knowledge of Red Hat’s technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Camel, Red Hat 3Scale, Red Hat AMQ, or Red Hat AMQ Streams (Kafka)

  • Working with some community technologies like Argo CD, Tekton Pipelines, Helm, or Jenkins

  • Working with application and infrastructure monitoring

  • Experience with or knowledge of JavaScript, Golang, Python, or Shell Scripting
