About this Position
The position consists of managing, researching and implementing mainframe batch cycle scheduling for 7 LPARs, distributed server/job implementation, creation of the yearly calendars for scheduling package, participation in the disaster recovery tests as the batch scheduler and user support and creating and managing cycle dates.Salary: $87K
Hybrid role, open to fully remote.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- The position is a regular work week (5 day), 7am to 4pm position; this position can be remote with some onsite responsibility when required.
- The main responsibility will focus on the mainframe batch cycle and distributed scheduling of jobs utilizing Rocket's Zeke and Zena.
- Currently, Primerica has 7 mainframe LPARs and 3 distributed platforms.
- Each request will require research to ensure it is correctly scheduled.
- Other duties will include the management, creation and publication of the cycle dates on the mainframe LPARs.
- Additionally, on a yearly basis, calendars are created for the mainframe LPARs and need to reflect the current quarters and holidays.
- These duties will involve validation by another member of the team and require coordination with the team.
- At set times during the year, there will be required support for the disaster recovery test; it will include assisting with the schedule load and assisting with the running of the batch cycle.
- The candidate will also be part of a basic daily support in case of absences as well as a on call rotation with the other members of the production services team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 - 3 years
- Mainframe skills -software (JCL, TSO, ISPF, SDSF, JES2, Zeke, Zebb)
- Microsoft skills (word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
- Able to work independently or in a team
