Key Accountabilities:
- Own root cause analysis and problem management for backup infrastructure.
- Identify opportunities to innovate, extend and enhance service delivery everywhere possible.
- Create and maintain system documentation for backups technologies, including installation, configuration and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
- Create and maintain backup SLAs by working alongside the business to define specific criteria such as Retention Policy, RPO and RTO.
- Monitor key system parameters to ensure optimum performance is being maintained.
- Work to ensure maximum uptime to essential systems.
- Work closely with other IT Management and technical staff to promote, evaluate and test infrastructure solutions.
- Contribute to global and regional infrastructure projects with guidance from senior leadership.
- Support Parexel business units by reviewing and actioning backup related tickets weekly.
- Required to participate in an on-call rotation.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of the principles and concepts of backup engineering and architecture.
- Required: Expert knowledge in CommVault backup solutions.
- Required: CommVault implementation and management experience within a VMware ESXi environment.
- Required: CommVault implementation and management experience within Azure.
- Required: Commvault implementation and management experience within Office365.
- Nice to have: Knowledge configuring and utilizing ISILON as a backup target.
- Nice to have: Knowledge configuring backups for Cisco HyperFlex Hyperconverged appliances.
- The ability to provide thorough troubleshooting before reaching out to vendor support.
- Able to analyze configuration, performance and availability of the backup environment to ensure we are meeting business defined SLAs.
- Managing and configuring AUX copies both on-premise and in Azure.
- Experience with daily reporting in CommVault above and beyond basic reporting capabilities.
- Experience automating various aspects of CommVault including OE/OS patching, agent installation and client scheduling.
- Highly organized and have clear, concise communication skills.
- Must understand how to identify and implement industry best practices.
- Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality.
Candidate Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related field.
- Extensive knowledge in CommVault backup architecture.
- At least 8+ years of industry experience administrating backups within an environment requiring strict, documented regulatory compliance.
- Experience designing, implementing and supporting a multi petabyte, geographically dispersed storage/backup infrastructure.
