Open is a fintech company building the most powerful insurance the world has seen. Businesses of all sizes embed Open’s car, home and travel insurance into their digital experiences, providing their customers access to fast insurance, that’s easy to buy and manage, and that saves them money.

Open’s flagship products are available under the Huddle brand, and we also offer bespoke white-label solutions for fast growing digital platforms and brands.

The potential of connected insurance

Insurance is one of the world’s least digitally mature industries, scoring just 47 out of 100 on BCG’s Digital Acceleration Index. Lying significantly below other financial services sectors, insurance has remained confusing, paper-based, heavily intermediated and completely isolated from consumers’ digital worlds.

Now, Open has digitised insurance, and made it simple for any business to embed it in their digital experience. This means people can purchase and manage insurance in the right place, at the right time, at the best price. Open’s insurance can also be connected with any data source in the world, enabling it to stay up-to-date and drive customer savings.

Our business

Open was founded in 2016 in Sydney by Jason Wilby and Jonathan Buck. Today, we work with fast-growing consumer businesses and major brands such as Telstra, Plenti, ahm and EnergyAustralia. We’re proud to count AirTree Ventures, Movac, Latitude and Hollard Insurance as shareholders.
