About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, analytical and customer-focused property manager to join our Portfolio Strategy team. The role of the Portfolio Manager is to provide excellent property management to our largest retail clients (individual investors who own properties across multiple markets). You will become intimately familiar with the unique operating procedures of the Mynd team across the US and work collaboratively with our functionally based operations team to ensure that property management operations are being executed to a high standard. You are a high performer and will manage the resolution of complex and ever-changing demands while accurately managing the expectations of high-touch investors. Adaptability, high attention to detail and impeccable communication are absolute requirements. Your portfolio will grow rapidly and across state lines and it’s incumbent upon you to exercise extreme ownership in all areas of the business -- including management of owner communications, oversight of leasing, turns, and repairs and maintenance costs to ensure everything goes smoothly. You will work collaboratively with, and act as a liaison between, our largest retail investors and the rest of the Mynd organization, partnering with other departments and products as needed. This role has the support of the entire Mynd team and is critical to our growth strategy.

Mynd’s unique approach to ‘team property management’ provides the Portfolio Manager with a wealth of centralized resources to help them execute all phases of management for their portfolio. Between these resources and their own area staff, the successful VIP Portfolio Manager must know how to efficiently and effectively lead a team of people while consistently solving the myriad of escalations that arise during day to day operations.

The Portfolio Manager loves both real estate and technology, and wants to use their property management skills to build a truly next generation property management company.

Location: Remote


  • Manage a portfolio of single family and multi-family residential homes to meet company objectives and metrics.
  • Work closely with the Resident Services, Leasing Repairs Maintenance teams to ensure all aspects of the portfolio are successfully managed
  • Act as the primary communicator between high-touch property investors and all Mynd property management operations departments
  • Systematically assess, organize, schedule and execute tasks within Mynd’s platform to ensure property management recurring and one time tasks are executed at a level satisfactory to our owners
  • Resolve complex problems (both tactical and systemic) to prevent any recurrence, while appropriately managing the expectations of retail investors
  • Assist with regular strategy sessions and quarterly business reviews for high-touch investors to ensure an in-depth understanding of both their portfolio construction growth objectives
  • Work collaboratively with an Asset Manager to understand the portfolio’s investment returns. Relentlessly focusing on driving and optimizing NOI for high-touch retail clients, including a rigorous focus on rent pricing, rent growth, cost control and vacancy management
  • Enthusiastically embrace innovation by testing software, processes and organizational changes, while providing feedback
  • Build strong virtual relationships with all other Mynd departments


  • 3-5 years experience in Property Management, preferably in fee management for small buildings.
  • At least one year of experience in office administration, account management or other role
    requiring strong organizational skills and customer service.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Bachelor's’ Degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on developing and cultivating relationships with new and existing clients (owners, investors, residents, vendors, and more)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work successfully with a range of stakeholders including regional employees, field staff, office staff, executive leadership, and external customers
  • Self-driven and intrinsically motivated with the ability to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines
  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Tech savvy and familiar with industry property management software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, Onesite and/or Propertyware), Google Applications, Microsoft Office Applications, and Mobile Applications
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a dedication to excellence and achieving goals.
  • Can work effectively solo and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed

$60,000 - $70,000 annually. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for commissions based upon achievement of performance objectives.

Travel required:

  • Must be able to travel within the assigned area a minimum of 10% of the time
  • Travel is required for training + offsites
  • Valid drivers license and a reliable source of transportation
