What this position entails

Milliman IntelliScript’s suite of products enables our underwriting clients to make better strategic decisions, by generating comprehensive, customized reports that reduce the time needed for population risk analysis. The Operations team counts on the Technical Billing Analysts to ensure that our complex billing process results in accurate invoices for our clients and vendors. This is no small feat in a department that also touches contracting, account set-up, training, client audits, compliance and credit reporting. Our team will rely on your dedication to catching “little things that make a big difference,” which will stem from your ability to navigate the intricacies of both Excel and SQL.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure that changes (such as price increases, tiered fee structures or new product contracts) are made accurately in proprietary billing software
  • Perform complex tasks in Excel: write formulas, nested “if” statements, v-lookup, pivot tables, macros, analytics, linking of documents
  • Modify and run SQL queries, download data, make adjustments as needed, and submit for peer review
  • Creating and maintaining process documentation
  • Determine reporting needs, support data reconciliation
  • Creating and modifying PDF documents
  • Cross-check data to ensure accuracy
  • Interact daily with all internal departments (sales, accounting, operations, IT, project managers)
  • Email and phone communication with clients and vendors

What we need

  • 2+ or more years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate experience with Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels, able to convey results in written reports and presentations in a clear and concise manner
  • Solid documentation skills
  • Comfortable performing routine work without sacrificing accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts and software

Location

he expected application deadline for this job is May 31, 2024. This position is open to remote work. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI and travel to client sites, industry conferences, etc.

The salary range for this position is $54,000 - $106,000 depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. In addition, we offer a significant performance-based bonus plan, profit sharing, and generous benefits.
