About the Team

We are designing e-commerce for the Next Billion Users - the users from Tier-2+ markets who are new to the e-commerce landscape and have (almost) never transacted online before. Our Field team is as diverse as our users. We act from frontlines to actively drive the mission of democratizing internet commerce for everyone. Our teams are composed of Senior Managers/ Regional Managers, Program Managers and a group of City Leads and Business Development Executives. We interact with the Category Team, Logistics team and Operations team on a routine basis. All of us work hard together to ensure that we continue to be the No. 1 shopping destination for Bharat users. We are passionate, energetic individuals who work like entrepreneurs. About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic, self-starting, result oriented City Lead who can display strong execution skills along with high analytical Skills As Category Lead, you will be required to make and execute a plan for scaling up city x suppliers’ businesses, expanding selection and ensuring best prices from your suppliers.. You will also play an instrumental role in enabling the entire team to deliver the bar-raising performance every time. What you will do

  • Scale 10x Supplier acquisition of respective city or cities
  • Scale Meesho penetration into respective Supply Hubs or offline hubs within or around the city
  • Mentor, motivate provide direction to a team of Business Development executives on Meesho’s values principles across your team
  • Work with central teams to ensure best selection, affordable prices and high discovery on the platform
  • Develop robust processes for smooth execution of all criteria
  • Compile and evaluate metrics for success assessment of individual and team level tasks
  • Scale success metrics of Suppliers across city in terms of Various supplier metrics like Order activation, Dispatch, Deliveries, GMV NMV
  • Collaborate with the Regional manager on getting 10X achievement on targets assigned
  • Take Individual ownership in activating B2B only hubs and collect niche trends as per category direction
  • Willing to travel extensively across the City and within the state if required. This is a field work role

What you will need :

  • Any Graduate or MBA with 3 to 5 years of experience into Sales, Business Development, Supplier acquisition into Ecommerce
  • Experience with startups and fast-paced environments is an added advantage
  • Experience of using Microsoft excel to analyse data and build POV
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically
  • Deep understanding of business and customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead team and manage relevant stakeholders
  • Complete market knowledge and understanding of respective city and around

In 2021 we raised $570 million led by Fidelity Management And Research Company, B Capital Group, Footpath Ventures, Trifecta Capital, and others. Existing investors SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Prosus Ventures, and Facebook have also participated in this round. This latest round brings our valuation to $4.9 billion.
