Maximus is looking for a Head of Engineering to achieve a fantastic engineering organization, equipped with skills and processes to rapidly deliver high quality software systems needed by our customers, doctors, and support staff.

Goals and Responsibilities
Revising and executing our hiring process, including interviewing candidates and ensuring their smooth integration into the team
Budget and schedule allocation of our personnel to appropriate teams, at appropriate times given executive direction, product roadmap and other plans
Maintaining a relationship with all developers to maximize their potential by monitoring their strengths, weaknesses, and what’s needed to retain good performers long-term.
Create a productive, collaborative culture without interpersonal conflict. Resolve personnel issues.
Proactively budget for cross-cutting needs of our software systems including security posture, any legal or regulatory compliance constraints, performance, SLAs, etc.
Maintain a culture of quality by facilitating reflection processes of continuous improvement and waste (and defect) reduction.
Communicate effectively with the C-suite to help them navigate technical or capacity constraints that apply to their desired roadmap of product improvements
Provide oversight and guidance on critical technical decisions, technology vendor selection and
Be a liaison between the engineering department and other departments such as marketing, analytics, etc.
Experience and Skills
Previous experience in a Head of Engineering, VP of Engineering, Engineering Director or CTO roles
Previous experience in telemedicine or health care.
At least 10 years experience in the software industry, some of it ideally in VC-backed startups, having facilitated the post-Series B growth
Prior experience with Event Sourcing technique is strongly preferred, but experience with other event driven architectures may be sufficient.
Maximus tech stack is Rails and React. Familiarity or experience with those ecosystems is preferred.
