At M-KOPA, we are revolutionizing financial inclusion and connectivity across Africa through groundbreaking technology. Our innovative financing model combines the power of digital micropayments with IoT (Internet-of-Things) connectivity, making essential products and services accessible to millions of underbanked customers. Since our commercial launch in 2012, we have been at the forefront of providing affordable solar home systems, smartphones, and digital financial services. This approach empowers individuals who earn their income on a daily basis, allowing them to acquire life-enhancing assets through flexible, daily repayment plans that match their cash flow. We have built one of the largest proprietary tech and data stacks in Africa, processing over a million payments daily. This robust infrastructure, combined with one of the largest direct sales forces on the continent, enables us to reach customers who have been traditionally overlooked by formal financial institutions.

Our commitment to technological advancement is evident in our continuous efforts to scale up every technology team, from backend engineering to Android solutions. We leverage cutting-edge technologies like C#, .NET framework, Azure-hosted microservices managed with Kubernetes, and AI-driven analytics to build a credit record for each customer. This not only facilitates access to a wider range of products like digital loans and health insurance but also fosters long-term financial relationships. M-KOPA's impact extends beyond individual empowerment; we are contributing to broader economic development by creating jobs, fostering digital inclusion, and even establishing local smartphone assembly facilities. Through our pioneering pay-as-you-go model and relentless focus on innovation, M-KOPA is not just providing products; we are unlocking opportunities and paving the way for financial progress for millions across Africa.
