Loka is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Technical Writer to join a short-term (2 months) project in the Healthcare/Life Sciences sector that’s already in motion. Qualified applicants will have a strong background in technical writing, exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, concise user-friendly documentation; familiarity with the US healthcare industry and/or FHIR is a plus. Responsibilities

• Create, edit and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, system guides, installation guides and troubleshooting guides.
• Work with software developers, engineers, product managers and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
• Translate complex technical concepts and procedures into clear, concise, understandable documentation for a variety of audiences.
• Ensure all technical documents are accurate, comprehensive and adhere to Loka’s style and quality standards.
• Gather information through interviews, technical specifications and other resources to ensure thorough and accurate documentation.
• Adhere to and develop documentation templates and standards to ensure consistency across all documents.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a technology or software development environment.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to quickly grasp new technologies and products.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in documentation tools such as Google Docs, Notion, Jira and other relevant software. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and documentation platforms is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
• Availability to join client calls in US time zone (8AM - 12PM EST)
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of coding, software development processes and/or system architectures.
• Familiarity with the healthcare IT or software development industry is highly desirable.
