Leidos is seeking a Solution Architect who will lead the design and managing complex, highly scalable and highly available solutions that align with our technical and client objectives. In this position, you will utilize your strong background in solution architecture and technical team leadership to plan and execute projects to meet business client data needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Communicate with clarity with client senior managers, executive leadership, business users to manage expectations, elicit requirements, explain the technical approach.

  • Communicate with team members to set expectations and explain the solution design with a focus on user experience, scalability, standardization, costs and security. Support modernization, enhancements and implementation of new processes associated with existing applications.

  • Work with a cross functional team of developers, QA specialists, and cloud infrastructure engineers to deliver innovative solutions using Agile processes.

  • Provide technical guidance on solution approaches across different frontend and backend technology stacks including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services cloud solutions. Check and analyze the technical impacts of new solutions and whether they fit in with existing architecture.

  • Lead the Enterprise Review Board reviewing solution approaches proposed by team members and critically review architecture, impacts to data flows, dependencies on/impacts to other areas, implementation/operational/security risks and their mitigations, post implementation O&M tasks definition.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation across the program portfolio including system documentation (both internal and client facing), SOPs, Environments etc.

  • Implement a continuous innovation process to identify, evaluate, recommend, and get buy-in from customer for new technologies and solutions, preferably including AI/ML and data analytics.

  • On occasion be hands on during implementation and expected to lead a project to completion.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience. Generally, has a minimum of 2 years of experience supervising or leading teams/projects.

  • At least 6 years of demonstrated experience as a Technical Lead delivering web-based solutions.

  • Experience leading projects, working with a multi-functional team, to deliver cloud-based solutions.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including program increment and sprint planning and execution.

  • Proven experience in requirements management, system and software architecture and design, cloud-based software development and operations lifecycle.

  • Understanding and experience with AI/ML driven solutions, including Generative AI.

  • Experience designing and organizing processes, procedures, tools, and team resources to deliver solutions.

  • Experience supporting applications/systems on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, including cloud-native architectures, with a focus on cost optimization.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and managing multiple databases across multiple applications to ensure optimal performance meeting the system. Experience in working and analyzing structured, semi-structured and unstructured data and uncovering data insights translating into a tangible business improvement.

  • Experience in DevSecOps, including CI/CD pipeline design and implementation, proficiency in security tools and cloud security, experience with IaC, knowledge of compliance, and ability to conduct threat modeling, automate security tasks, and foster a DevSecOps culture.

  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence, Jira and Jira Service Management software.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps Server and Service.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with proven problems solving skills.

  • Must be detail oriented, and able to multi-task with good follow through skills.

  • Must be able to get hands on during implementation of a solution.

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to successfully obtain government-issued Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.

  • Experience in producing technical proposal documents in response to RFPs as part of new business capture process.

  • Experience with Design Thinking and Human Centered Design, and persona driven solutions.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00

Leidos' story begins in 1969 when Dr. J. Robert Beyster, a visionary scientist, founded Science Applications Incorporated (SAI) in La Jolla, San Diego, California. Another major milestone occurred in August 2016 when Leidos merged with Lockheed Martin's Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS) business, a landmark transaction that created the defense industry's largest IT services provider and significantly expanded Leidos' capabilities and market share.
