About Kojo

It's time to build. Whether it's creating more housing, upgrading our infrastructure, or adapting to climate change, one thing is clear: the construction industry is at the center of solving our biggest problems. We’re making buildings cheaper and easier to build by transforming the way commercial construction companies buy their materials. Join us.

Founded in 2018, Kojo is now one of the fastest-growing construction technology companies in the world. Construction accounts for $10 trillion in global spend annually and we can’t live without its output - our roads, schools, hospitals, and offices. Despite this, there’s been very little innovation over the past 70 years in how materials - which constitute up to 40% of project costs - are bought and sold. This is our opportunity.

We’re hiring a hands-on manager for our small but mighty Infrastructure team. This role is a great fit for an experienced player-coach who is both excited about a solid production infrastructure and developer experience today and about evolving it for the needs of the future.

About the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a critical aspect of our product from the ground up, helping guide future of the construction industry.

This role will include:

  • Making hands-on contributions to the goals of Kojo’s infrastructure team in the areas of building/testing/deploying code

  • Managing the infrastructure team and ensure that they are delivering on the right priorities (and neither drop the ball nor get side tracked by distractions)

  • Shepherding quarterly planning process for developer experience and infrastructure health at Kojo

  • Evaluating and giving input into strategic plans for technical solutions and processes affecting shared systems at Kojo (prod infra, data infra, search infra, etc.)

  • Collaborating with engineers, UX designers, and product managers.

  • Representing the infra team’s abilities and growth opportunities to the rest of engineering and senior leadership.

About you

What you’ve accomplished

  • Strong technical background, and proven track record of maintaining and evolving development and production systems for an engineering org (7+ years professional experience preferred).

  • Experience working with Github, CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, node.js (or a similar tech stack).

  • Team player who enjoys learning, teaching, and collaboration.

This is an entirely remote, full-time position for candidates who currently reside in North America. Working hours are flexible across ET to PT. The salary range for this role is between $175,000 - $205,000 for candidates located in the US, commensurate with experience.
