Senior Backend / Middleware Engineer (TypeScript, GraphQL, IoT)

Position Overview

We are looking for aSenior Backend / Middleware Engineerto work onMiddleware API developmentfocused onTypeScript, Node.js, andGraphQL, supportingIoT‑stylecommunication with connected devices, includingstate‑of‑the‑artaudio and networking products.

This role is focused on designing and buildingplatform‑independentmiddleware services, exposing device capabilities throughGraphQLand REST APIs, and collaborating closely withcross‑functionalengineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementplatform‑independentdevice communication middlewarefor connected audio and networking products

• Develop backend services usingNode.js and TypeScriptin an agile,cross‑functionalteam environment

• Implement device communication business logic inNode.js and C++

• Expose middleware functionality throughGraphQLand REST APIs

• Model, standardize, and abstract device interaction capabilities to providedevice‑agnosticinterfaces

• Optimizemiddleware performance and implementappropriatesecuritymeasures

• Break down requirements and estimates to deliver features from concept to production

• Collaborate with marketing, testing, and systems engineering teams to define use cases and requirements

• Communicate effectively with technical andnon‑technicalstakeholders

• As needed, extend ormaintainweb‑basedUI componentsusing Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS

Technical Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Scienceor related field

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong experience as aNode.js backend developerwith a focus onTypeScript

• Hands‑onexperience designing and documentingasynchronous Web APIs

• Experience authoring and consumingGraphQLand/or REST APIs

• Asynchronous programming

• Distributed systems

• OS fundamentals andmulti‑threading

• Software design principles (SOLID, separation of concerns, cohesion vs coupling)

Experience with:

• CI/CD pipelines

• Unit and Integration Testing

• Git or similar version control systems

• Comfortable working in aremote‑firstor hybrid environment

Nice to Have

• Experience withdistributed systems

• Domain experience withaudio products or wireless/radio devices

• C++ development experience(OO or functional)

• Embedded ordevice‑levelsoftware development

• Experience withsingle‑pageapplications(Angular, React, Vue.js)

• Experience withserverless cloud environments (AWS preferred)
