Mobile App Developer (Android) Opportunity in digital Solutions and Software Development Industry

  • Location: Colombo 3
  • Work Type: Hybrid (PM - 50% WFH, Developers - 90%)
  • Work Hours: 8am -5pm
  • Working Days: Mon-Fri
  • Type of Appointment: Permanent

Responsibilities:

1. Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
3. Work with external data sources and APIs.
4. Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
5. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
6. Troubleshoot and debug issues to optimize performance.
7. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards.
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in mobile app development.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven working experience in Android app development.
3. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
4. Proficiency in Java, and other programming languages.
5. Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
6. Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
7. Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
8. Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
12. Experience with version control systems such as Git is a plus.
13. Published apps in the Google Play Store is a plus.
