Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Architect with expertise in BIM (Building Information Modeling) to join our team in Sri Lanka. The role will focus on leading and contributing to architectural projects based in Dubai, involving remote collaboration with international teams, and ensuring compliance with Dubai-specific regulations. This position requires a blend of creative design, technical proficiency, and project management skills to deliver high-quality outcomes from concept to handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to concept design, schematic design, detailed design, and construction documentation for Dubai-based projects.
• Provide innovative design solutions and manage projects through all phases, from inception to handover, adapting to remote workflows.
• Prepare and review specifications with up-to-date knowledge of materials, particularly those relevant to Dubai's construction environment.
• Lead technical matters and project management tasks, ensuring compliance with Dubai authority regulations and international standards.
• Produce and supervise drawings across all stages; guide team members during design presentations.
• Manage BIM workflows, enforce BIM documentation and process standards, and support automation for productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Sri Lanka and Dubai to determine design needs and requirements.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients, often via virtual platforms.
• Supervise the design team, conduct reviews, and provide guidelines for efficient remote collaboration.
• Allocate, distribute, and monitor tasks to ensure deliverables meet scope, quality, and timelines despite time zone differences.
• Liaise with Dubai authorities remotely; attend technical meetings virtually or in person when required.
• Coordinate with external consultants, suppliers, and sub-consultants across borders.
• Support BIM activities and contribute to the company's digital roadmap.
• Travel to Dubai sites as needed for inspections and surveys.
• Maintain project documentation including correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Architecture with a minimum of 10 years experience in architectural design of buildings/towers (concrete and steel).
• Experience in Middle Eastern/Dubai projects preferred.
• Valid accreditation/certification recognized by Dubai Municipality (e.g., Unlimited grade or equivalent).
• Proficient in Revit, BIM360, and related software; knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, PROKON, or STAAD PRO is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai building codes, international standards, and construction processes.
• Demonstrated expertise in integrating architectural and structural design elements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with proven experience managing remote teams.
• Strong organizational skills to ensure quality deliverables within deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to Dubai for site visits, inspections, and client meetings.
