What you will be doing:
- Perform revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 guidelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze contracts, agreements, and sales arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and Operations to review and assess revenue implications of new deals and offerings.
- Prepare and maintain documentation supporting revenue recognition policies and procedures.
- Assist in the implementation and enhancement of revenue recognition software and systems.
- Conduct periodic reviews and reconciliations of revenue-related accounts.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations related to revenue recognition.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Here's what you will need to know/have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably within the software industry and public accounting.
- Thorough understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidelines.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Experience with revenue recognition automation tools is a plus.
