inDrive began as a grassroots response to injustice. On New Year's Eve 2012 in Yakutsk, Russia - the coldest city in the world - temperatures dropped to -45°C (-49°F). Local taxi companies colluded to dramatically increase their prices, leaving many locals stranded in the dead of winter. Outraged residents came together on social media to find and offer rides at fair prices. What started as a community-driven solution eventually became the inDrive app, founded by Arsen Tomsky.

Today, inDrive has grown beyond ride-hailing into a global mobility and urban services platform operating in over 1,065 cities across 48 countries. The company offers fair services including city rides, intercity transportation, delivery, freight, and lending solutions. inDrive's peer-to-peer platform is committed to delivering essential services that meet fundamental life needs and empower individuals with core values grounded in fair business practices. The company became a unicorn in 2021 and was the second most downloaded ride-hailing app worldwide in both 2022 and 2023. inDrive also runs seven non-profit programs supporting education, sports, and arts in communities where they operate.
