2024 Summer Intern, IT Communications Specialist

ICF is seeking a 2024 Summer Intern, IT Communications Specialist to work in our Corporate Information Technology (CIT) organization. This position will assist CIT with multi-channel training, user engagement and communications on enterprise applications, including but not limited to Microsoft 365 applications. The position requires knowledge of Microsoft applications, functionality, and best practices, and the ability to present training materials in a concise manner.

This is a full-time, 10-week internship expected to begin June 3. The work will be fully-remote from any U.S. contiguous location. Pay for this position will be $23 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory and assess intranet content, identify gaps, inconsistencies, redundancies, and propose solutions to streamline and improve it.

• Write, edit, and update clear, concise, and user-friendly content such as documentation, tutorials, and FAQs for Microsoft 365 applications and other content as applicable.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, and end-users to gather feedback and validate the accuracy and effectiveness of content.

• Apply best practices and standards for technical communication, such as plain language, accessibility, and usability.

• Assist with training and user engagement in various formats (videos, web content, Viva Engage posts)

• Participates in special projects as applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Information Systems, Marketing, English or other related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expected graduation of 2026 or later.

• Advanced familiarity with the M365 suite of collaboration applications and functionality.

• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.

• Passion and curiosity for learning new technical skills and applications.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• An understanding of general technical communication principles and methods.

• Experience or exposure to one or more of the below:

• Technical writing, editing, and proofreading.

• Content management and organization.

• Information architecture and design.

• User research and testing.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
