Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: Full Stack Web Developer (Hourly Contract)
Compensation range: $35-$55 AUD/hour
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: The company aims to provide customers with high-quality furniture at a reasonable price. All of the products are technically designed with practicality in mind and crafted using high-quality furnishings.
Role Overview: We’re looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Web Developer to work with us on an hourly basis.
You’ll handle a range of ongoing development tasks — from front-end tweaks and UX enhancements to back-end integrations — helping us continually improve our brand’s online experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement custom Shopify code changes, small tweaks, and advanced theme modifications.
- Work closely with our team to enhance UX/UI design and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Collaborate using Figma for design mockups and visual handovers.
- Optimise site performance, speed, and responsiveness across all devices.
- Handle small development sprints efficiently, with clear communication on progress.
Technical and Process Responsibilities:
- Performance & optimisation checks — Regularly audit site speed, accessibility, and SEO using tools such as Google Lighthouse, GTmetrix, WebPageTest, and Shopify Theme Inspector.
- Code control using Git — Maintain version control and clean collaboration in GitHub, following proper branching and pull request workflows.
- Error monitoring and validation — Identify and resolve console errors via Chrome DevTools or Shopify CLI, and ensure clean, compliant code through W3C Validator and ESLint/Prettier checks.
In our client’s experience, it’s best to have a defined process for managing code and catching errors — these are often the areas developers overlook.
It takes more time upfront but saves significant effort long-term by preventing avoidable issues and maintaining code quality.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Shopify (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Proficient in UX/UI design with a solid understanding of conversion-focused design and CRO fundamentals.
- Ability to create and implement Figma design mockups into Shopify.
- Deep understanding of site performance optimisation and clean coding practices.
- Reliable, proactive communicator who takes ownership of tasks and deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering polished, high-performing results.
If you’re a detail-oriented, creative developer who can move fluidly between design and code — and who values quality, process, and precision — we’d love to hear from you.
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
